    Graiselle Toned Glass Palette

I wanted to share my method for preparing the toned glass palette.

As displayed in the photo, mix 16 graiselle values using the Global Method in a Global Palette. Then paint a large paint stirrer found at any local paint store with the 16 graiselle colors. Keep the paint stick with you while painting to check your values. The stick can also double as a mahl stick when painting trays.

To use the glass palette, brush a thin layer of extender on the surface of the glass and use a palette knife to put a small amount of color for each value in a row. Keep the area covered when not in use to keep dust off the paint and help slow the drying process. Drop small amounts of extender on the top of the paint if it looks like it is drying out.

On the glass palette, the colors usually stay workable for at least two weeks. The paint in the Global Palette stays workable for a LONG time (the palette in the photo was mixed almost two years ago, and it is still good ... great paint!).
